The documents required are: original passport; "Attestation Reservation de cale"; letter of transfer from the shipper’s employer; inventory (four copies) detailed, valued, in French, signed and dated by shipper, and consularized at origin (Describe all stereo, video and radio equipment, including make, model and serial number); letter authorizing Destination Agent to clear shipment.

Shipper must be present at customs clearance. All the shipments are inspected. Personal effects may be duty-free. Shipments must arrive within four months of customer.

The next items are dutiable/restricted: all canned meat products including pork, sheep, fish, chicken, etc. (Certificate of Health required); electrical items and furniture (if less than six months old); home computers; books and tapes (an agreement from the Interior Ministry required and no more than 25 audio and video tapes); firearms (an agreement from the Defense Ministry required); phones and faxes (an agreement from Telecoms and Post required).

These are prohibited items: weapons, ammunition, military equipment; drugs and narcotics; alcohol and other spirits (should be sent separately); animal skins, stuffed animals, birds or fish; CBs and walkie-talkies (including children's toys).
