Ecuadorean Customs Corporation is the state agency responsible for managing imports and exports in Ecuador. Those interested in conducting international trade are required to register with the central bank of Ecuador as importers or exporters.

Any individual is entitled to import goods and services into Ecuador. Occasional imports are possible by simply filling out the declaration form and attaching a copy of the local identification document. Regular importers should register their data through the private banks duly authorized by the central bank of Ecuador or related offices. A tax contributors register (RUC) and proof of legal organization is also required as a formal business or corporation.
