Import Regulations in Benin
The required documents are as following: detailed valued inventory in French, signed and dated by the shipper; letter of transfer from the shipper’s employer; "attestation reservation de cale".

If shipper can prove ownership of his household goods, they are duty-free.

Home computers will be subject to customs duties and import taxes, as they are not accepted as personal effects. New electrical items are also subject to payment of customs duties and taxes. All furniture and electrical items must be more than six months old (invoices required).

The following items are prohibited to import: weapons and drugs. Alcohol and other spirits are prohibited and should be sent separately.
